Terms of Use
Last updated
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the tubeblock.app website (the "Website") and the TubeBlock browser extension (the "Extension"), together the "Service". The Service is provided by Captain Software Limited, Unit B, 11/F, 23 Thomson Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong SAR China ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
No affiliation with YouTube or Google
TubeBlock is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by YouTube or Google LLC. YouTube, YouTube Shorts, YouTube Kids and YouTube TV are trademarks of Google LLC. Other product names mentioned on the Website (such as Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Firefox) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
License
The Extension is free. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, install and use the Extension for your own non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms.
You may install the Extension on as many of your own devices as you like. You may not sell the Extension, offer it as part of a paid product, or publish modified copies under the TubeBlock name.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or of YouTube's own terms of service;
- reverse-engineer the Extension in order to build a product that misleads users about its origin, or remove notices from it;
- distribute copies of the Extension that contain malicious code or that collect data from other users;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Website or its server.
How the Extension works
The Extension changes only what your own browser displays on www.youtube.com: it hides video cards and adds buttons according to your settings. It does not change your YouTube account, your recommendations history or any content on YouTube's servers. Because YouTube can change its website at any time, some features may stop working until we release an update.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time, with or without notice. We have no obligation to provide updates, but when we do, they are covered by these Terms.
Price
The Service is currently free of charge. If we ever introduce paid features, their price and terms, including the refund rules in our Refund Policy, will be published on the Website before they become available. Existing free features will not be taken away to force a purchase.
Your feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, you agree that we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Extension will hide every matching item on YouTube, that it will work with every browser version, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
The Extension is a convenience tool and not a parental control or security product. Do not rely on it as the only way to keep content away from children.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Captain Software Limited and its staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim; for the free Service this amount is zero.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and nothing limits the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
Links to other websites
The Website may link to third-party sites, such as browser help pages. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the Extension. We may end your license if you breach these Terms. The sections on warranties, liability and governing law survive termination.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts of Hong Kong, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page with its "Updated" date. By continuing to use the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
